so this site has been switched over to the OpenID login i described earlier. you don't need to log in again or restart your computers or anything stupid like that; changes should be transparent. instead of the old username/password login in the navbar, there is now an OpenID identity URL-based login. if you enter an OpenID and you don't have an account, one will be automatically created. the account page has been updated so you can edit your handle/email if you want to.
