Awesome Kats!
How do you read the scoreboard? (sorry, no time to figure it out)

That's an excellent question Robb!

For each of the eight problems there are two numbers, x/y.
x is the number of times a solution was submitted
y is the minutes into the competition that a correct solution was submitted

Penalty is the sum of all y-values + some additional penalties for incorrect submissions.

the entry for each problem is #attempts / timeSubmitted. if timeSubmitted is "--", then it was never completed successfully. so waterloo black got problem A on their first attempt at 62 minutes into the contest, and michigan valiant didn't get problem A, but made 4 failed attempts at it.

the "solved" value is the number of problems solved successfully, and the "penalty" value is the sum of all the submission time values, plus 20 penalty minutes for each failed attempt (i.e. 20 * (#attempts - 1) for each problem successfully completed).

Ohh. Maybe my arch nemesis's server is 22 seconds closer to Redmond. Then he wouldn't be slow, he'd be exactly the same as Greg.
I probably shouldn't help out my arch nemesis though. :)

I'd say kats' post has at least 22 seconds worth of extra value in it (most notably the exact penalty for an incorrect submission). Sorry Greg.

Very true.
I think greg deserves the 20 * number of attempts at a correct solution penalty
so that adds 20 seconds to his clock.
Plus server time delay. That's at least a 2 second penalty.
Kats ftw.
