After much anticipation, the second battle of CerealWars™®© has been completed! I know it took a while, but for a while I didn't feel like eating cereal, and then I ran out of milk, and so on... anyway, I have finished two more cereals:
CerealWars Round 1b
This was a close one. I didn't consider either of the cereals particularly good. In fact, they were both mediocre. It was just a matter of deciding which was more mediocre than the other.
The oatmeal crisp tasted weird. At least, it did initially. It was probably the maple nut flavouring. But after the first couple of bowls I got used to the flavour and it didn't bother me. I didn't particularly like it either, though. The persistently annoying thing about this cereal was that the flakes were too sharp and hard. Not sharp enough to do any damage to the inside of my mouth, but sharp enough to be annoying. Leaving them soaked in the milk for a couple of minutes helped a bit, but not much. The cereal also tended to get wedged in my molars.
The life cereal was pretty much the total opposite. It tasted decent, but the cereal tended to get soggy really fast. After half a minute in milk, the flakes completely lost their original shape and texture. I'll give them credit for clumping together when soggy rather than decomposing and making the milk all murky. After I scooped out the clumps of soggy flakes the milk was clear enough to drink easily. All in all the sogginess was a much better behaved sogginess than I've experienced in the past.
So the winner? Life.
